For the love of health.

Hi, I’m Claire, educator, motivator, mother and lover of all things health and fitness.

To uncover your true potential you must first find your own limits and then you have to have the courage to blow past them.

I’ve had my fair share of health challenges. From XXXX to miscarriage and post-pregnancy stress, I know the value of having your health and the importance of making your fitness and wellbeing a priority.

I also know it’s easy to get so busy doing everything else life throws in the way, the priority suddenly slips to the bottom of the pile. Or, what’s possibly worse, when the exercise obsession gets to the point where you end up doing more damage to your body than good.

Trust me, I know all the excuses.

I’ve always loved sports. Growing up I was a typical tomboy, holding my own against the boys and turning my hand to every sport out there, but it was swimming and netball where I excelled.

Travelling the country playing netball representing my school, club, county, one of my pinch me moments was when I trialled for the England talent squad aged 15.

It was at this moment I knew sport was my calling.

In 2004 I headed to Leeds Metropolitan University to study Physical Education before going on to complete a PGCE and become a qualified teacher. Since then I’ve taught physical education in high schools, helping teenagers develop themselves physically, mentally and emotionally.

Teaching is what fires me up.

After 11 years working full time as a secondary school teacher, I knew I wanted to do something more with my passion for fitness and teaching to help others discover the love I have for health.

It was during a very hot, sweaty and exhilarating new fitness class that I discovered what it was I wanted to do. Hiitstep. I’d never heard of it before but I fell in love with the energy and intensity of the workout. I knew it was this class I needed to run myself, stepping out of my classroom comfort zone and into a room full of mixed ability adults who want to get healthy.

Taking the leap, in 2019 Claire Louise Fitness was born. I left my full time teaching job, started as a supply teacher and ran Hiitstep classes in the evening.

It wasn’t long before word of mouth saw my classes fully booked with regulars asking for even more sessions. The buzz in those rooms and feedback from clients was electric.

Witnessing people reach their goals, losing weight, improving their fitness and finding their confidence was the exact reason why I started my journey in teaching all those years ago. To make a difference.

Always Zooming forward

Fast forward to March 2020 and I didn’t let a global pandemic get in the way, we simply moved online.

For months we exercised in front of our screens, but the connection and goals were still achieved. In fact the classes became a lifeline for many people – including me.

Since then I’ve grown as an instructor alongside my clients.  You’ll soon discover I’m not one to stand still, so I used this time to take part in training to become qualified in other areas, allowing me to expand my timetable and offer clients more variety in their workouts.

It’s time to change old habits

Changing a habit takes hard work, commitment and a whole load of motivation. This is where I step into my own and add the most value to my clients.

It’s easy to WANT to return to a healthy BMI or feel great in your clothes and have the confidence to love wearing a swimsuit on the beach. But actually DOING the work to make it happen is a whole other story. But I know from experience, once you do, the impact is life changing.

I’m not going to lie, I don’t hold back.

As the saying goes, no pain, no gain. But I believe in adding a load of fun into the mix and making the pain bearable for all the right reasons.

Your legs may feel like jelly after my class but the buzz you’ll have will make it worthwhile and more. But don’t just take my word for it.
